"Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A Battle You Know Nothing About..."

After my little break from SL, I came back to some upsetting news. Not about me, not even about someone I know personally, but about a person we all recognize in name and work. You've probably worn her work and not even realized it! Owner of AngelRed Couture, 3D mesh creator Lexi Zelin as we know her in world, Heather Crawford in real life was recently diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer).
I can't even imagine what she is going through...but I do know we can all do our little part to help. Because Second Life is a virtual world, I think we often forget that there are real people behind that avatar. We are a society all our own. We have our community, we have each other. This is a time to let that really shine. A time to embrace one of our own while she's dealing with this. A time to not only help her and her family, but also a time to show just how much we are capable of loving and caring.
Like I said, I don't know her personally (although I would totally chat it up with her!), but I do know we're both mothers, we're both hard working women...and all of us agree that Cancer needs a damn beat down! It has long since been on my wishlist to see a cure for Cancer. Nobody should have to deal with it, nobody should be made to walk it alone.
So The Lexi Project was created in world as a means for all of us to do our part in helping Lexi. I know a lot of us don't have tons of money but what needs to be remembered here is that there are a LOT of us, and every little bit can amount to a whole lot if we all take a moment to visit and have fun snagging the goodies because 100% of the proceeds go directly to Lexi!
There are over 375 designers (and more being added still!) that are participating so, I know everyone can find something. I saw some of my all time favs there. DRBC, Dark Passions, Deadpool, CX, Maxi Gossamer, The Little Bat, Razor, Belleza, Dirty Stories, Speakeasy....the list is just awesome! I love that so many designers are participating in this.

Although I could have done this picture in so many ways, I decided to go with a fighter. Those that have beat cancer are exactly that, fighters, some of the best! I know Lexi will do just that.

Personal note: I wanted to say that although we don't know each other...mother to mother, I already know you're strong. Moms were built tough. You are being thought of and you are loved! Don't just beat it, knock it the f<3k out!

So What If It's Hot Out, I'll Still Be Wearing Black!

Hello luvs, did you miss me?! I missed blogging but the break was severely needed. It's just something that happens. Not only to bloggers but everyone in SL. Real life steps in and is over demanding. There is really nothing you can do about it. I am not going to go into my innermost personal issues with you but I will say that it's not only RL work that is exhausting me, just a lot of alllll the thangs! I wish I could continue functioning without any of it getting in the way but that's just not how I am wired. So there is your answer as to why I haven't blogged every day. Plus, blogging for me has always simply been my creative outlet. A way for me to show off some of my favorite fashion designers and all my other fav things in SL. It was never about anything else. So when it became too demanding, I had to reassess it all. I love my sponsors btw. They have always been some of the most supportive and understanding people on the grid. I'd rather be without a sponsor than have anyone think I am just getting everything for free. I am certainly not. Hopefully I will be able to get in more blogging time now though. So anyway, onto other things!

Summer is here and holy hellballs it has been HOT! I live in one of the colder states in the US and even here we're in the 80's. Now for some of you I am sure that is ideal but for those of us thick blooded people who can't stand the heat...this is hellish. Plus humidity, eww!

Still, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not wearing my black clothes. The only other color I have is a dark purple haha. So many people will come and tell me they don't know how I can wear black in this weather but...how could I not? It's my favorite color to wear and anyway...I don't feel much of a difference wearing anything else. Maybe that's just me. 

This fashion I am so enjoying in SL has made it's way into my RL. I have done my fair share of leg work looking for places online or in my surrounding area that sell clothing similar to this and I am starting to completely overhaul my wardrobe. That's been long overdue anyway!

Needless to say, when DRBC dropped this one, I was on it! This is NOT the only print that this awesome cardi comes in either! My Reflection

Ever since I first logged into Second Life and learned about shopping and how much you could customize your look in this world, I was hooked! It is one of my absolute favorite things to do. 

Fashion in my real life doesn't get as much attention as my full time job and family takes up a lot of my time so, I take out all my fashion frustrations in Second Life lol. 

Finding 'That Perfect Look' is sometimes a battle for me. I can imagine something in my head but my inventory is pretty loaded. Even though I am anal with how I separate my things, it's still a lot to go through mentally. Occasionally though, I will luck out. 

Tapping into the whole 'Nu Goth' fashion once again, since it is my current obsession in SL and RL! When I see things in Sl that I can use to add to my collection for this style, I will snag it in a heartbeat! 

I loved these little tops by Dappa! Simple little crop tops with a dash of witchery and spice, I was okay with that! I ran into these awesome jeans at The Mens Dept. and I havent taken them off for awhile lol. This whole outfit in fact has been on me for a few days though I rotated through my Dappa tops. The pants have a leg insert so...you alpha out your mesh body legs (these Jeans are rigged for TMP, Maitreya, and Slink) and this knee cap, as seen in the pic, is still there. The jeans include a skin hud for you to adjust to your skin color. It eliminates the issues we've had with mesh jeans that have holes in them for your legs to show through and things are poking out all over the place. The shoes I paired up with it pretty much sealed the deal. FK Designs never fails in providing some of the best textures in SL. I love the quality of these shoes and they're available in many prints!

I was also one of the lucky ones to be allowed early access to the Hair Fair this year. *cheers!* I'm always so thankful for those opportunities. Fighting the masses to get in there and shop all the things and get back to our platforms and then blog it all to share with everyone can be a pain in the mesh ass! 

For those of you that don't know, or don't remember...this is another great reason to shop in SL as all items sold at Hair Fair donate a portion of their sales to  Wigs for Kids!

This hair-do, along with several others, stood out. I found it unique in style. I loved the quality and I loved the bangs! So although I originally took the pic for this outfit wearing another hair-do, I changed it up last night and loved it this way even more.

Death Becomes Her {Elder Goth Style}

Well hello!
It hasn't been that long has it? Don't worry, I Have lots of stuff to show. I've been having quite a bit of fun with my SL, the styles...finding all the things I love!
Goth fashion is not new to Gia's World at all. In fact, it is worn often and happily! Those of you that have been residents of Gia's World for quite some time now, don't need to be told that either.
I almost see it like a challenge. With so many events always popping up around SL, there's only but a few that are darker themed ones. Suicide Dollz, Woeful Wednesdays, The Witching Hour. Then of course around Halloween, several pop up so that is usually when all the goths creep out of the coffins and come out to play! Fun times! But back to what I was saying, I almost find it to be a challenge that when I go to these events, the popular ones...Collabor88, Fameshed...Etc, for example, I pic out what things I can use to pair up with my gothy outfits. Sometimes I can luck out and find a few things both most times, I end up gathering stuff for my eclectic taste.
Needless to say, when I see darker stuff pop up randomly, I cheesy grin like a kid in a candy store!
Death Row Designs made this ahhhhh-mazing 15 LI carriage hearse and I... *sigh* fell in love with it! It has a HUD to change the color of the seats and curtains in the hearse and over a 100 poses, single, couple, clean and adult versions...for those girls that get...you know.
It just so happened that my beloved DRBC released this gorgeous gown for Suicide Dollz!
I had no other thought in mind but to pair the two together for a fabulously dark Elder Goth look and I just adore it! DRBC has also released some super cute jackets at Suicide Dollz, you won't want to miss ANY of it!
