Do You Voodoo Too?

I think by now, everyone knows that I almost exclusively get my nails did at Dark Passions. There's a reason that I give that place so much love and devotion though. Seriously, if you're not familiar with the shop, you're missing out! Originality a lil bit o' gore, horror, goth, nu goth, pastel goth, Victorian goth and if you look close enough, you might find some cutesy designed nails there. Both Maitreya and Slink friendly (With special requests for Belleza), it's definitely a shop I adore.
I know a lot of people are like, one color and go when it comes to nail polish. I'm a bit pickier myself. But, there are days when I don't want to mess around too much and I have a favorite 'go to' polish and that's the  Dark Passions - Koffin Nails: Roaring 20s & Dirty 30s OR DP - Koffin Nails - French Manicure - Black Tips. I love them both and they go with alll the things!
So I did a special lil nail blog post with a closie of some badassery nails that Dark Passions released for Horror Haute. C'mon now, how often are you going to be able to say you wore voodoo pins in your nails? Nevar! The prices are always shockingly low so, do take advantage! These lil ebil cuties are only 50L at Horror Haute so go take a look and lemme see the voodoo that you do!

"I'm Taking Control, I'll Assimilate Your Soul, I Will Rule Your Mind..."

I am sure you have all heard me many times go on my lil rants about how Goth in SL needs to 'evolve'...by saying that, I am usually talking about the flexi that has stayed in a lot of the clothes, system clothes (although when done right with appliers can be great!).
Also thinking outside of the box. In EVERY genre, not only Goth...the best thing we can do is put things together because WE like it. Because it feels and looks great to YOU. Regardless if some asshole is sitting there telling you how crappy it looks, how they don't like it, how they would never wear it, how it looks ridiculous, etc etc. That is THEIR point of view and not yours. You will find that they often wear things that you just shake your head at and wonder what the hell they were thinking when they put that together. It's all about perspective and everyone has a different one. What I wish is that more people were aware at just how rude they are when voicing theirs. Not everyone has to agree with your perspective, and you cannot force them to. What you will end up doing, if that person is like me, is pushing them away. So...careful of your words. Honest opinions are always a good things but never force your personal style/views etc. on anyone.
One of my recent obsessions has been a newer blogger named Judas. Of course he's sexy, Do I have to point that out? That's obvious but far beyond that is his sense of style. Quite honestly, it's like one I have not seen before. It's edgy, it's goth and sometimes not, it's Androgynous and sometimes not, it's unique, it's incredibly sexy....quite simply put, I can't think of a better person who's claws I'd rather have on my bewbage than his! He's not afraid to wear guyliner, nail polish and heels...I just adore it! So, love all over his blog, as it is male AND female friendly!  <3 your Judas! You can put your claws on me any day! I totally let my vibe this past Sunday inspire my picture here. I wasn't sure how I wanted to blog this all but...It was such a gray day,  it was gorgeous. The windows were open and the threat of rain had the wind running rampant, cleansing my house in the process. My candles were flickering and through it all, I had Stevie Nicks singing sweetly. Honestly, I haven't felt that sort of magic in a long time and it felt quite lovely. 

I absolutely fell in love with these little dresses that DRBC released for Suicide Dollz! They come in several different colors (HUD), several different rich colors I should say. I'm not used to seeing those colors in DRBC but she pulls it all off flawlessly! This was like the perfect springtime dress and I don't care if you wanna be all witchery with it or not, the colors let you decide how you will wear it.

Though I thought of wearing shoes...I just couldn't. I was feeling nature in all its glory in my real life and it passed right through to my SL.

I apologize for my mini break. With the holiday this weekend, work was insanely hectic but...on a good note, I was able to get some photos taken for more posts because of the long weekend. So I will be back soon, and with company! (hint hint!)

Lemme Show You How I 'Goth' {World Goth Fair 2015}

We are like what...2 days into World Goth Fair! Have you invaded it yet?! Hells, I was allll over it days before it opened, but special blogger stuffs and all, we're allowed to so there! So I was able to see a lot of the awesomeness though a lot of the shops weren't set up yet so I will have to swing by again later!

As I have mentioned before, RL has been super hectic for me so this was my first year in a few years that I decided to not be an official blogger for World Goth Fair. I didn't want to make any promises I couldn't keep. However, I figured I would blog what I could on my own dime and on my own time. I snagged several goodies.

So just to go over a few things. In previous years, World Goth Fair was a charity event for the Sophie Landcaster Foundation but due to complications that were outlined in the World Goth Fair blog post, it is no longer so. I know this saddened a few of us but I trust that Axi and Lokii know what is best for the event and for the Goth community in SL.

The month of May holds a grand day for us 'Goths'. World Goth Day is May 22nd. This is a day we let our freak flags fly a little higher than usual. A little prouder, a little more prominent. Enough to let the rest of the world know we're here, we're strange, we're dark, we're okay with it. Amongst all of it...don't forget we also love passionately and have feelings like all the rest.

I've went on many a rant about my views on goths and some of those in the scene feeling rather 'gothier than thou' so, I will spare you all. Just keep in mind that, like it was said in a picture I saw on Facebook, "Goth should be liberating, not confining". Are you Victorian Goth? Nu Goth? Bubble Goth? Industrial Goth? ....Whatever you are, I love all of your Gothiness, and that's simply how it should be! <3

Film Noir Fantasies

So I might've had just a lil too much fun with the pics for this blog but, what can I say? You already know me well enough. This always happens when I am having fun.
The DRD set available at 9th Republic is an Industrial set, still when all was said and done and I put myself in the pics (which I wasn't going to do at first!) it reminded me of something very film noir, which is something I love! So I edited my last one in a black and white version as a dedication to my love for all things film noir. All I needed was my criminal to come and find me!

The week has been a long and busy one for me but I am SO glad it's Friday! Finally!
I'm hoping to get a few posts in over the weekend but that's not a promise.
I wanted to thank my readers for being so patient with me. I have never been a 'bang it all out' blogger. My posts have always been spread out over a few days, but right now...that time has been even more so. RL has been super hectic and balancing that and the blog has been tough.
My blog is my creative outlet and my place to go on mini rants and my place to be free...and my place to be a chatterbox to the masses without disturbing the introvert inside me! So, again, thanks so much for your patience. I may not post everyday...but my heart is in everything I post <3

Introverts Unite! (Separately...In Our Own Homes)

Wanna know something kind of personal about me? I'm an Introvert and I'm proud! It actually took me a loooong time to say that and understand that it was okay to say that. I was told since I was a young girl that I shouldn't be 'antisocial'. It was wrong, it was bad, it was mean, it wasn't right, etc etc. I met someone not very long ago who laughed when I said I was antisocial. She said, "You are -NOT- antisocial! You're very social. I don't know who ever would tell you that BS but, they're wrong. You may chose to socialize with only a few people, you may be selective about those you socialize with. Being out in public drains you I bet?" I agreed. "Well honey, that's not antisocial, that's Introvert. Entirely different." So I explored this new word and I embraced it and it really helped me. I hadn't realized how upset it made me to think that I couldn't just go out and be a social butterfly like a lot of other people out there can, how much it made me look down on myself because of all the BS that had been drilled in my head about this for so many years.
I understand why I look forward to hanging out with....ME! I understand why when we go out shopping, or friends ask me to go 'hang out' with them, I come back home and feel this exhaustion. Like I have to recharge a battery. I very much value my 'Me' time. I love my small circle of friends and feel no need at all for an abundance of friends. My circle is small and secure and mostly family...but I am very social with them and they will tell you that. Texting, phone, visiting...whatever it may be, they hear from me often.
My pictures reminded me a lot of the real me and so I wanted to reveal that part of me. Funny how much poses can influence everything in my portraits. They breathe life into my pictures. A lot of times, that's why it takes me forever to blog things because...I can't simply stand in front of a wall, I love telling a story. I like you to see my pictures and wonder what exactly is going on. What was she doing, is she doing, or will she do?

I have chatted you all up many a times about my mad obsession with music. I have a certain love for it. I'm eclectic...meaning I can jump from one Genre to the next quite easily. Wanna play a game? I so did say that in the creepy "Saw" voice! Okay, so I am using shuffle on my main Ipod, yes I have three in order to survive! So, shuffle on my main (10 songs only) goes like this, and I will be totally honest and not switch it up. (Don't judge!)

My main point is that my music heavily inspires me! Sometimes I think that when I am on my death bed, if you put my headphones on me and crank the volume (make it Tool!), I will probably stand right up and take off running. Some of my music can bring me to tears in a moment, some of it is just mesmerizing! Do you have a song that can take you back to a certain moment in life? Songs that hold memories of sadness or great memories of happiness. I think music holds so much power....we simply just don't give it enough credit.

So having said that...may the power of music and all its badassery lead you to these awesome Remarkable Oblivion headphones at Fameshed. I kinda fell in love with them and they really inspired the pic and the whole vibe for this pic!

Elven Sanctuary {Fantasy Faire 2015}

With over $5 Million Linden raised so far for Relay for Life, Fantasy Faire has been ah-may-zin! I wish I had all the time in the world, there was certainly a whole lot more I would have loved to show you. I hope that you've all been there by now and had a good time participating in the events, shopping for a good cause and enjoying the incredible scenery.

Each sim is just so well put together, I seriously could take fantasy themed pictures there all day for several months and not get bored and have them all look different! 

So they gave us some blogger challenges and last year I took up a couple. I talked about the first time I heard of cancer. It is definitely something I will never forget. This years challenge, I thought I would tap into a little bit of the  roleplay side of me which is one I used to show a lot more in the beginning of Gia's World and not so much now as I am always feeling rushed between this and real life. SO...this blogger challenge states: Faire Folk- Create a character from the Fairelands. Pick one of the Faire sims as their home, make a look mostly from Faire items, make the character come alive. Take at least one picture of that character in the chosen home sim and blog away!

My character is Daneilea. Born of the Sylvan pride. Princess and heir to the throne. Great Priestess of Arcane Sorcery. Her days are filled with magick, music and love. The love she has for her family, her over protective father and brothers, the people of The Sylvan of Spells and her homeland.

Although I could get on for days about what Daneilea does with her time or how she uses her magick, I still have lots to show and so little time so! Moving forward...
