The Silver Screen

The Golden Age of Hollywood intrigues me so! With its glitz and glam, the mysteries, the drama, the fame, the fortune. I often find myself watching some of the movies from that era and I am in awe. Not only with the clothing, the hair (THE HAIR!), the cars, even the accent in their voice. That accent that we no longer have. I'm still often shocked because things are said to women in these movies that just wouldn't be said now. But with all of that, the women were beyond words, untouchably gorgeous! Embracing all of their feminism. Letting loose a femme fatale sort of beauty that no not one person could look away from. It wasn't about flashing body parts...it was about a beauty that captured the lens with a single glance. A "Bettie Davis eyes" kind of stare that left people captivated. That was the epitome of 'Sex appeal'.
DRBC's Veronica Gown inspired me to reach into myself and find that stare, that glitz, that glam.It comes in a variety of prints. Winter Glam {Skindustrial Fab}

Awww I brought out the snuggle buddies for this one! Skindustrial Bodyworks came out with this exceptionally gorgeous winter jacket and I took it out for a stroll with my lil friends.
Now, I wont really claim to hold close to any ONE style of dressing because there are so many that I love. But this was a new one for me. I can't really say I go all out 'glam' too much but this jacket made the words 'glam' and 'luxurious' come to mind. It comes in several different colors, including Blue, Charcoal, Cream, Pink and this one featured is Silver.

With it being -EVERYONE'S- favorite time of year...oh, not everyone's? Well, I don't know what corner of the world you're in, but the corner I am in, it seems every woman around me has all their ducks in a row. They've baked already and most of them have everything bought and in the fridge for Christmas dinner. They've had their shopping done since oh, what...like October? Not me, not lil ol' Gia. You see, I just went Christmas shopping a few nights ago! My top photo is a perfect representation of what I felt like. I was all dressed up, looked fab, but I was oh so irritated with the holiday last minute shoppers. And every year I ask myself..."Why oh why do I do this last minute shopping thing?!". Then I will say, "I'm not doing this next year!". Next year, I will be doing the same thing. But it's all about the family and the things we'll do for them. That's where the spirit of Christmas lies. And if you can't find the spirit of Christmas there, find it in chocolate...or wine. 

I'm wearing this adorable little get-up by Knockers. When I saw this mesh, I fell in love with it and just plan on wearing it at every point possible! This is HUD modifiable with 8 different color options! (As is the shirt). So whatever your Christmas party theme might be, you're outfit will be sure to compliment it.

Darkness Falls {Visions of Gothmas}

When I first signed on to blog for Gothmas by Gaslight, I read through their blog to get a general idea of what it would be all about. It looked like something I would absolutely love being a part of. (I was right) And so I created this vision in my head of what I wanted. Songs I would use, photo ideas. I even wrote down ideas while at work! The main one I had in my head was a walk through a dark forrest by lamplight. I imagined what the dress might look like, what hair style I would use, etc. 

Before the event even started, I logged into my Second Life one morning and was greeted by a pleasant surprise. Someone sent me a gift. A Christmas Lantern. The perfect prop for my little vision. The lamp has it's own pose that simply makes you lift your arm so, I simply used the other poses right along with it. I made a trip over to the shop and ended up spending awhile looking around. It's adorable with a ton of gorgeous and interesting things! Use the landmark, you wont regret it.

My favorite designer is involved in Gothmas by Gaslight but her dress wasn't the one I saw in my vision....just yet. It seemed as if she read my mind and created the VERY dress that I imagined a lil bit later! An absolutely lovely dark gown that I think stole my heart.

I loved being able to see the different ideas of what 'Gothmas' meant to each of us...but this right here, is -my- Gothmas.

"Dracula-la-la I'm A Sucker For Your Love!"

It was a night out at the B-Movies! Who loves B-movies more than me? Not nobody, not ever! B-Horror Movies? Well...Now we're talkin'! No date needed when I am surrounded by my all time favorite movie monsters. They show me enough love. It's just me, my fab clothes, a buttery bucket of $50 cinema popcorn and an Icee.
Who could resist DRBC's new Eloise tops that are absolutely adorable?! But B-movies aren't the only theme. Make sure to stop over at the shop to check out the other adorable designs (Chocolate Chunk was another fav!) or check out DRBC on the Marketplace. There is probably a style for every girl out there. FK! Designs is there too so if you have a date, tell your dude to check out the clothes there because wow...some awesome clothes for our guys!
I paired it with an adorable pant/skirt set I found at Collabor88 and FK! Designs Heels. And that was the end of that because that was about all I needed to feel untouchable.

It's no secret to anyone that I love, love, LOVE me some DRBC! Mesh is mesh unless you add some magic to it and when you make me think I can reach in and touch the fabric of my Second Life outfit, I declare that success! So DRBC made these cutesy kind of dresses but you know me, I'm going to take it and make it mine! I paired it with these magnificent heels also at Gothmas from Enfant Terrible, one of my all time FAV Elska tattoos, some rather gorgeous facial piercings from Things and Plooms 12 Days of Christmas hair! I hope you've all taken advantage of that too. The hair isn't free but the price is great and poses on the other side too!

I had so much fun taking photos for this. The problem I had was I couldn't choose which photos to share. Seriously, I sat there thinking about it for awhile.
Gothmas by Gaslight has thus far been an amazing experience for me in so many ways. What I love about the events is seeing what the designers come up with. What does "Gothmas by Gaslight" mean to you? It meant several things to me and that is my goal, to capture what it means in my mind.
Mystic Canvass has made some Ah-MAY-zing skins for the Frost event! I am just in awe with the talent. I love that I dont have to find eyeliner or lipstick or anything else to compliment her skins because they are all badass on their own! MC sale is STILL going on at her store by the way! 99L for skins 1L for Lola appliers!
MC Skin+Sakide's Gothmas special made me think of...well, this. Flash Friendly poses provided the perfect prop for the setting.

Just a Lil Vendetta

It's no secret to anyone that I am definitely a member of Halloweentown. So I found this little area in Second Life and along with these fabulous poses by Flash Friendly poses, I made myself a lil story. It goes like....

Once upon a time, there was a girl who loved Halloween, all things Halloween, she breathed Halloween (if she breathed at all). But Christmas was shoved down her throat by the ebil people of Christmas town. Their cookies, and baking, and smiles and ugly sweaters, and silly music and...she flipped. Kidnapped the Sandy Claws and kept him prisoner in Halloweentown and lived happily ever after.

I Can Only Be Me

Of the many styles I've seen and displayed this winter...this is one of my favorites. It represents the real me. I'm always me. Always a lil bit gothy, a lil bit horror, still approachable (I think), always Halloween and I don't think there's anything wrong with showing off the real you even in your Second Life.
Sakide made this adorable sweater for the FROST event and it took me about .2 seconds to snag it! I paired it with some cute pants I ran into there and FK! Designs Legwarmer boots perfected it. I can't help but have a little obsession with my coats this winter! If you could feel the temperature where I live, you would understand! Purrfect Winter [DRBC Pre-Release Gacha Garden-Winter]

The Pre-Release Gacha Garden is now open! DRBC has some super fab fur coats to keep you warm and in style this winter. Rock it vintage, modern or shake it up! I decided to do a bit of both. I had triple bang bow fun matching the bow on the jacket to the bow on my heels and a bow on the bag I found and after I put it all together, I could think of no place else to be except this cute little area I ran into while on MadPea's Holiday Havoc Hunt. It reminded me of vintage Chicago and I don't know if that's the look they were going for right there but it's just perfection for me. A little bit of retro, a little bit of slum=Love From Gia <3.
The Gacha Garden runs from now until January 3rd. So you have some time to make your way over and test your luck on the Gachas!

I Got It On Lockdown

Have you made it down to The Boobies Show yet? It started today! Elska's got some pretty awesome tattoo's that are boobie friendly. This one I am wearing is called 'Love Lockdown' and I thought it was pretty accurate in defining some personal thoughts for me today. So I wear it with pride and symbolism. I got this on lock down. Always.

Handy Dandy Bewb Tips:
Although I am sure the greater part of you know how to work your bewbs well...I am sure there is still the occasional person that's going to do the head tilt and say 'Wut?!' while trying to wear boobs, clothes, and tattoos. So I'm going to share some tips with you that some of the creators have shared in world.

Wearing Boobs With Clothes-

• First make a copy of your Lolas! Tango implants

TIP: Place your copy in a folder marked "Tangos Tattooed" This way you wont need to set them up again, and you will still have a blank set of tangos for those days where you don't want to wear tattoos.

STEP 1    • Once you have the copy , Wear your implants then add your tattoo Applier  click to apply the tattoo;
TIP: If the applier does not work on first try, click your implants and in the popup menu select "clothing", then "Dress Bra" Click once more your tattoo applier to wear.

Tip: For best results you may find that you will have to small adjustments to the position of your tangos to line up the tattoo on your implants with the tattoo on your skin

STEP 2
• Now wear your top, the tattoo layer will disappear but don't worry your still wearing it. It's just hidden from view.
TIP: click "Dress Top" in your clothing menu if the clothing applier does not work on first try.

STEP 3
• Now you have to find the part called "Bra Applier" - it's one of the invisible layers that covers your implants;

• Right click on your implants and select edit. In the edit window select "EDIT LINKED"
Now click on the top layer of your implants and move it down.

Click on your implants again and it will now select the Bra Layer. In the edit window go to the TEXTURES tab and turn the TRANSPARENCY down to 0% Your tattoo layer is now visible!!


STEP 4 • Click on the layer that you moved down and press Ctrl + Z
The layer you moved will now snap back into place.  (From a ParaDesigns Notecard)

Matching your Boobs to your Skin Tattoo: (from Elska)

If you notice when wearing these (tattoos) on mesh boobs, your tattoo applier looks a lot more vibrant in color, please take the following steps to adjust this:

1. Edit your boobs.
2. Hit "edit linked parts"
3. Click on the top layer and pull it out (it's transparent so don't worry about it)
4. Select the layer underneath (this is the bra layer)
5. In the "texture" tab, put your transparency up.  Putting it to 2 or 4 usually works for me.

NOW THE TATTOO ON YOUR SKIN SHOULD MATCH THE TATTOO ON YOUR BOOBS! :)

6. Select the transparent top layer and move it back onto your boobs.

En Pointe! My Iced Earth

However can you tell when I've had too much fun? The pics are abundant! DRBC came out with these exceptionally demonic looking shoes but for some reason...I could only think of one thing. No not something demonic, not something (incredibly dark) just slightly dark....My Iced Earth. I remembered a video I once watched of a girl En Pointe with knives attached to her ballet shoes. There was beauty in it. I tend to find beauty in things people might find weird...but you have to. Otherwise...what kind of  world are you living in?
I could almost feel the ice flaking off the lake and onto my legs as I danced across it and the cold bite of the wind against my flesh. This is a sweet caress, a dark kiss...me embracing this winter.

Snowed In!

Damnable snow! I'll complain now with the fifteen plus inches of snow that has me currently (and quite literally) snowed in, but deep down inside...it's quite beautiful. What better than to make a hot cup of coffee or cocoa, pop in a nice horror movie and snuggle! Okay okay, you want 'holiday' movies! I get it. How about "Christmas Evil" then? Or my fav, Tales From The Crypt the 1972 movie! The 'All Through the House' segment with Joan Collins and the psycho Santa! Amazing! Comfy clothes, comfort foods, warm drinks, horror....that's my kind of evening in!
While snowed in, I'm enjoying a comfy little sweater dress I found and of course...my all time favorite ink! Reckless will have some pretty bad 'azz' exclusives at the Azz Show which starts December 5th (aka tomorrow!)! Take your fine azz over there and snag them all!

You Game?

Still another part to me is the lil fact that I love gaming! I love love my games. From Atari to Nintendo, Playstation and PS2 and then I kind of ventured over to PC gaming and never looked back! And so starts the console vs. PC gamer war! Nah, I love gamers in general. My favorites being zombie games of course. Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, Dead Island, Dead Rising, Resident Evil (*insert fan girl squeal*) and I am talking about Resident Evil 2 and 3. Like when you're playing Jill and the Nemesis keeps coming back over and over again! ARGH! I don't know how many times I slammed the controller across the bedroom. 

So I kinda fell in love with Elska's 'Play Hard' tattoo because it represents every bit of every gamer! 

It is an exclusive at the Azz Show that starts on December 5th along with these other tattoos that I almost stripped down bare bottom just to show you! Yes, that's how much I luv you. Make sure to head over and snag them all!
